ABOUT

Picture
I have been a follower of nutrition, health, and wellness since the 1980s.

It has always been a passion since my 20s while learning about food working in high end restaurants during college.
I was studying history but gravitating towards the medical field.
Occupational Therapy (OT) attracted me as it was a new concept integrating mind and body therapy, even though it was founded in the 1920s mainly to provide treatment for those with mental disabilities. Iyengar Yoga started to interest me as it complemented the ideals of OT using research based experiences.
Pharmaceutical sales came my way (I needed more income to stay in SF) and expanded my knowledge in a different way in regards to Western medicine. I had never been to a primary care physician before.  I had no idea their medical model was to treat the symptoms with medication vs. finding out how the symptoms came to be. Even then I would only see nutritionists and naturopaths.
Being an overachiever, I was starting to burn myself out and suffer the consequences. In my 40s, horses and endurance entered my life as I had ridden horses since I was 8 years old and really wanted them back as a lifestyle.
I learned I could never have children as I was infertile from developing Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).
Horses became my children and to manage 3 Arabians, I had to be physically and mentally strong as well as keep this new diagnosis at bay along with another one, Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism.
Later, I developed Shingles and found out I had Epstein Barr Virus. I refused to let weight gain, lethargy, infertility, muscle and joint pain, depression, anxiety, bad skin, always feeling cold (even in Mexico-I'd have socks on while sweating in bed), and thin hair take over my life.
I'm coming back full circle now as a health coach with roots in my Yoga Certification from the 90s and Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga. Learning more about essential oils 2 years ago paved the way. I desire this daily and now have vibrancy,
energy,
deep sleep,
a diverse and healthy diet,
improved self care habits, and overall,
way more ease in my life.
I can even ride 100 miles in one day with my horse (that's me in the above image with my horse Hot Wheels) and and be back to full time work the next day.  I want to share my new habits with you because if it worked for me, then I feel its my obligation to teach it to others with similar experiences and concerns. Welcome to my new program, Love your healthy fit Body.

I LOVE MY fit BODY, HOW ABOUT YOU? I'm not thin or skinny, just fit.
